Native to North America, it is mainly found in Northern Quebec. Aboriginals used it in their traditional medicine and considered it the most vigorous and robust conifer. An ideal Christmas tree for its pleasant scent and long-lasting needles once cut, it was named the king of the forest. Fir Balsam essential oil evokes a walk in the great outdoors.
