Description
The sunflower plant is a member of the daisy family. It is native to North America and was first cultivated by the American Indians. The seeds of this annual plant are teardrop-shaped, edible and perhaps the most versatile of all nuts and seeds.
Uses
Sunflower seeds have mild flavour and a pleasant crunch. They can be roasted or enjoyed raw as a snack.
Storage
Store in a tightly sealed container, in a cool, dry place, with temperatures under 70°F. Estimated shelf life should be 6 months. Refrigeration is recommended for to extend shelf life.
