Description Our Vegan Chocolate Chips are made with organic ingredients, including vegan fair trade cane sugar and cocoa. For us at Westpoint, finding more ingredients that support our farmers and food security is so important to our team. Our Cocoa is coming from Organic and fair trade farms in Peru. Farming communities grow Cocoa trees in agroforestry, which integrates the growing of trees with crops or livestock. Naturally shaded cocoa agroforestry systems such as farming in forests and along forested areas help conserve and protect biodiversity and at the same time generate income for small-scale cocoa producers. Farming communities in Peru now have Cocoa as a driver for economic development. Cocoa farmers have been experiencing the effects of the climate crisis, through unpredictable weather patterns and new crop-threatening issues. Organic and fair trade farming is the goal to help with the future of sustainable sources for Cocoa. Fair trade sets social, economic, and environmental standards for both companies, farmers, and workers. This means that there is a fair price paid for the product and protection of the land. The fair trade premiums help farming families improve their living conditions. For example, the money can be used to finance further training for small farmers, ecological projects, school buildings, and school materials for the children living in the communities. We value Organic agriculture as a holistic system that is designed to optimize the health of diverse communities in our ecosystem. Our planet hosts an abundance of life, all needing to thrive and exist simultaneously. We love getting to support organic production because it helps develop operations that are both sustainable and harmonious with our environment, and those which support this abundance of life. Fun Fact: You can have your chocolate and fight climate change too! Cocoa that is produced sustainably using agroforestry can help developing countries lower their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and achieve their climate goals! When integrating crops into forests, it moves away from deforestation for farming land. Ingredients Organic cane sugar, organic chocolate liquor, organic cocoa butter. Directions What's better than marshmallows? Chocolate-dipped marshmallows, of course! All you need to make these are marshmallows(Dandies are a delicious vegan marshmallow to try) and a handful of vegan chocolate chips and a few toothpicks or popsicle sticks. Melt the chocolate, stick a pick in the marshmallows, and give them a good dunk. Once the chocolate cools, snack on them on their own or pop them in a mug of hot cocoa. Uses - You can make your own homemade vegan chocolate blizzard made with our chocolate chips, coconut milk, cane sugar, and cocoa powder. - Craving some vegan muffins? We love to whip up some chocolate chip banana muffins made with a flax egg, chocolate chips, and some almond flour! - Sunday mornings just got better with making your morning pancakes with our Vegan chocolate chips. The chips have the perfect amount of crunch thanks to some roasting in the oven, and a touch of saltiness to offset the sweetness of both the sweet potato and the vegan chocolate chips.
