DESCRIPTION ECHINACEA (Echinacea purpurea) – Family: Asteraceae Stimulates the immune system during bacterial or viral infections such as the cold/flu or streptococcal infections. It quickly soothes sore throats. Its anti-inflammatory effects reduce nasal congestion. This herb has well known antibiotic and sudorific (increases sweat) action. Echinacea also decreases lymphatic swelling during infections. It aids in the recovery from chronic illnesses, and in certain form of cancers (when the production of blood cells is still under control and not compromise as in leukemia or in auto-immune diseases like rheumatoid polyarthritis). Echinacea purpurea stimulates the lymphatic system by increasing the production of white blood cells, T lymphocytes and macrophages. It also protects cells against the destructive actions of pathogenic agents, bacteria and viruses. ELECAMPANE (Inula helenium) – Family: Asteraceae Inula helenium with its inulin, sterols and alantolactones, is one of the most effective herb to stimulate the immune system. It also possesses antibiotic, antiseptic, fortifying, and expectorant properties. German pharmaceutical research in 1885 already showed that Inula helenium neutralizes Koch bacillus (tuberculosis). OREGANO (Origanum vulgare) – Family: Lamiaceae Origanum vulgare is known since antiquity for its powerful antiseptic properties. It has a stimulating effect on the spleen, liberates the lungs, and soothes coughing and respiratory affections. THYME (Thymus serpyllum) – Family: Lamiaceae Thymus serpyllum is one of the most powerful antiseptic plants. It has been known for centuries to relieve symptoms of: cold/flu, sore throat, cough (whooping), bronchitis, and for all pulmonary infections. It helps to liquefy mucous secretions and to decongest sinuses. BALSAM POPLAR (Populus balsamifera) – Family: Salicaceae The resin of Balsam poplars is the main ingredient of propolis, an aromatic resin collected by honeybees to protect the hive from disease. Populus balsamifera is a powerful germicide for humans. Its medicinal properties are: analgesic, antiseptic, antibiotic, healing, expectorant, febrifuge, mucolytic and tonic.
