Red thyme is an aromatic plant representative of Mediterranean vegetation. The Thymol type is probably the most widespread geographically speaking and is typically found in sunny regions with dry scrubland. It is commonly used in traditional medicine, where it is consumed in the form of herbal teas and tinctures. Its medicinal virtues have long been known and recognized.
