Instructions Topical (Adults) Mix 2 to 4 drops in 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) of vegetable oil; apply to the affected area 3 times a day. Inhalation Add 4 to 12 drops to a bowl of steaming hot water or a diffuser. Inhale slowly and deeply for 5-10 minutes. Warning (Health Canada) FOR EXTERNAL AND OCCASIONAL USE ONLY. DO NOT TAKE ORALLY. DO NOT USE ESSENTIAL OILS UNDILUTED. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. If accidental ingestion occurs, seek urgent medical attention or contact a Poison Control Center. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes; if this happens, rinse thoroughly with vegetable oil. Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. History Boswellia is a type of shrub-tree whose resin can be culled via small incisions made directly into the tree trunk. The whitish and fragrant resin turns an orangey colour as it hardens. It is from this resin that the essential oil is derived by means of steam distillation.
