What is Fava Bean?
Vicia Faba is the botanic name for Fava Bean, also called the swamp bean. This pulse, very popular in the Charlevoix and Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean regions of Québec is the main ingredient of the famous fava bean soup. Rich in vegetable protein, carbohydrates and dietary fiber, Fava Bean contains almost no fat. Its high content in copper, manganese, iron, and thiamine make it a great health ally.
